Framing has begun

Although we need the rain, it would be nice if nothing gets wet until we have a roof!

Wooden You Know It

Lumber is here!

It's HOT today. I'm picking up rocks from what will be the crawlspace under the house.

That way it won't be so creepy to go under there once the house is built. Less nooks for critters to hide :)

It was 100 degrees.  I was hot and dirty.

More building blocks

Aaron and Brandon have both helped to lay the blocks. The main block-layer guy is named "Bones". The rest of his crew didn't show up, so he needed some help.

Brandon helped Bones from 10:00PM to 4:40AM.  Better than working in the heat of the day I guess.

Concrete Truck is here

I'm surprised that big truck made it up the hill. Let's hope it makes it down in one piece.

Rub a Dub Dub...

We were looking for an old-fashioned claw-footed tub.  Found one a few miles away.

Alan found a place in town to powder-coat paint it. Looking forward to the "after" pictures.

Getting site oriented

We met the builder at the home site to determine orientation.  We're eager to start this week, but looks like rain for the next couple of days.

Our Loan is Approved, ready to break ground!

Our banker worked very quickly to get our loan application submitted and approved in only 4 days.

We met with the builder and now ready to break ground on Wednesday of this week!
